The Series Continues
Series creator Joss Whedon brought Buffy the Vampire Slayer back to life with this comics-only follow-up to Season 7 of the television show. After the destruction of the Hellmouth, the Slayers - newly legion - have gotten organized, but it's not long before new and old enemies begin popping up. Buffy, Xander, Willow, and a very different Dawn are introduced to the season's big bad, Twilight, and are only beginning to understand the incredible reach of this mysterious threat. Meanwhile, rebel Slayer Faith teams up with Giles to handle a menace on the other side of the Atlantic. It's a dirty job, and Faith is just the girl to do it!
Why Read It?
The Buffy graphic novel series is a continuation of the final season of the immensely popular television show. From 1997 to 2003, the show dominated major television networks and received critical acclaim for its intricate storytelling and adventurous appeal. Starting with The Long Way Home, the series continues in comic book format and successfully extends the character development of our favourite characters from the show. The Buffy graphic novels are a must-read for any fan of the TV drama. They also serve as a worthy introduction to Buffyverse for anyone who has yet to enter the complex world of the Chosen One.
Geared towards a mature teen audience, the Buffy graphic novels tackle dark, and often controversial, themes. The reader is transported into a different Buffyverse; one where our beloved characters still battle forces of evil and their own personal demons, yet the landscape in which the story plays out has undergone a drastic change. Those looking for a fast-paced and compelling storyline that offers plenty of charm, dark humour, and brilliantly subversive content will find all of this, and more, in the literary extension of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
