Saga

Vaughan's Ongoing Space Opera Series

Saga is the story of Hazel, a child born to star-crossed parents from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war. Now, Hazel's fugitive family must risk everything to find a peaceful future in a harsh universe that values destruction over creation.

Saga

Why Read It?

Perhaps the only currently ongoing graphic novel series to rival the success of The Walking Dead is the science fiction series from industry veteran Brian K. Vaughan, Saga. While often simplistically described as "Game of Thrones meets Star Wars," Saga is much more complex than that. It is an epic and sprawling character-driven space opera that can appeal as much to fans of science fiction as to those who normally have no interest in the genre. It's taken the industry by storm, with popular Saga characters like Lying Cat, Izabel, Alana, Marko, and The Will being regularly seen as cosplay costumes at comics and gaming conventions.

Saga is definitely written for an adult audience. If mature language and imagery is not a problem for you, then definitely given Brian Vaughan's new masterpiece a shot. Start the series off with Saga the Deluxe Edition: Book One, then follow it up with the later volumes by clicking the cover images below. While it is hard to find other titles that are truly similar to Saga, listed below are a number of other titles that match either its grandeur or its themes.
