Mark it Read - Dyslexia Awareness

Mark it Read Dyslexia Awareness

Mark it Read is the Canadian celebration for Dyslexia Awareness, which we recognize in the month of October. It is estimated that up to 20% of Canadians live with a language-based learning difficulties.

The SDG Library recognizes the importance of accessible materials for everyone, and as a result we are adding decodable stories for new and struggling readers. We are also pleased to offer access to the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA). CELA offers over 200,000 titles in accessible formats either by postage-free home delivery or digital download. If you have a print, physical or learning disability you may be eligible for CELA service. Contact your local SDG Library Branch for more information.

On October 18, we’re inviting you to the Morrisburg Branch for an inclusive storytime and to see our displays regarding our accessible materials. We hope to see you there- and wearing red- to highlight the importance of Dyslexia Awareness.
