FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Updated Website Launch
October 21, 2015

The SD&G County Library has just unveiled an updated and redesigned website to facilitate access to Library information, collections and community links.  Over the past ten months staff have worked to improve the website in order to create a more accessible and interactive virtual Library experience.

The updated website has a number of tools that provide quick access to resources sought, such as new and upcoming titles in the Library’s collections, regular updates of “what’s happening” at the Library, and a new “recommended reads” section.  As well, access to patron account information and the ability to search both the website and the Library catalogue have been improved.

“Overall, the launch of the website went very smoothly and we’re pleased with the feedback we’re receiving so far,” reports David Brush, Systems Support Coordinator for the Library.  Mr. Brush is a key staff member in the redesign of the website. He plays a large role in maintaining the system now that it's been introduced to the public. “We have worked hard to create a website that will be easier for visitors to find the information they’re looking for,” added Mr. Brush.

The SD&G County Library recognizes that its website plays an important role in linking people within SDG to reliable and current information. The updated site allows Library users to do this effectively and easily.  Over the next few months, the Library will monitor feedback from patrons, and staff are available to help anyone who needs it.  Questions or feedback about the website may be directed to Susan Wallwork, Communications & Marketing Librarian, by phone at (613) 936 -8777 ext. 226, or by email at swallwork@sdglibrary.ca.
