Volunteers are the heart of every community, giving their time, energy, and passion to make a lasting difference. At the SDG Library, their dedication helps create welcoming spaces, enrich programs, and strengthen connections that bring people together, and one such invaluable group is the Crysler Friends of the Library. On October 28, they proudly celebrated their 20th anniversary in style. Their celebration, marking two (2) decades of community support, literacy, and a shared love for their local Library.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of Lorraine Bourdeau, founder of the Crysler Friends of the Library. Lorraine’s vision and commitment helped lay the foundation for the strong, vibrant Library we enjoy today. Lorraine was presented with a certificate in appreciation of her lasting impact.
The celebration even sparked new growth, with seven (7) community members signing up for library cards that evening, a wonderful reminder that support for the Library continues to grow and thrive. Thank you to everyone, both new and familiar faces, who joined us for this special milestone. Your support keeps the Library at the heart of Crysler. Congratulations to the Crysler Friends of the Library on 20 wonderful years, we look forward to many more years of working together to promote literacy, connection, and community spirit!

Célébrons 20 ans d’esprit communautaire!
Les bénévoles sont le cœur de chaque communauté, offrant leur temps, leur énergie et leur passion pour faire une différence durable. À la Bibliothèque SDG, leur dévouement contribue à créer des espaces accueillants, à enrichir les programmes et à renforcer les liens qui rassemblent les gens—et l’un de ces groupes inestimables est les Amis de la Bibliothèque de Crysler. Le 28 octobre, ils ont fièrement célébré leur 20e anniversaire en grand. Cette célébration marquait deux décennies de soutien communautaire, de promotion de la littératie et d’amour partagé pour leur bibliothèque locale.
Un moment fort de la soirée fut la reconnaissance de Lorraine Bourdeau, fondatrice des Amis de la Bibliothèque de Crysler. La vision et l’engagement de Lorraine ont contribué à jeter les bases de la bibliothèque forte et dynamique que nous apprécions aujourd’hui. Elle a reçu un certificat en reconnaissance de son impact durable.
La célébration a même suscité une nouvelle croissance, avec sept membres de la communauté qui ont obtenu une carte de bibliothèque ce soir-là—un merveilleux rappel que le soutien à la bibliothèque continue de grandir et de s’épanouir. Merci à toutes et à tous, nouveaux comme anciens visages, qui se sont joints à nous pour ce jalon spécial. Votre appui garde la bibliothèque au cœur de Crysler. Félicitations aux Amis de la Bibliothèque de Crysler pour ces 20 belles années; nous avons hâte de poursuivre encore longtemps notre collaboration afin de promouvoir la littératie, les liens et l’esprit communautaire!
