Author spotlight: Emma Donoghue
Emma Donoghue is an Irish-Canadian author known for her historical and contemporary fiction. Donoghue is best known for her novel Room (2010), which was inspired by real-life captivity cases and was later adapted into an Oscar-winning film. Her works often explore themes of identity, relationships, and resilience, with a strong focus on women's and LGBTQ+ experiences.
Other notable books include The Wonder (2016), a psychological thriller set in 19th-century Ireland, and Haven (2022), a historical novel about an isolated monastic community. Donoghue has also written plays, short stories, and nonfiction.
