SDG Reading Challenge – June 2025

Pride Month is a powerful celebration of love, identity, and the vibrant spectrum of human experience. It honours the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience, history, and ongoing journey toward equality. At its heart, Pride is a tribute to diversity - not just in who we love, but in how we live, express ourselves, and connect with one another.

Diversity in Pride means embracing every colour of the rainbow: every gender identity, every sexual orientation, every culture, and every story. It’s about recognizing that our differences don’t divide us - they enrich us. They challenge us to grow, to listen, and to build a world where everyone can live authentically and without fear.

June is Pride Month - a time to honour, celebrate, and uplift LGBTQ+ voices, histories, and stories.  What better way to join the celebration than by diving into a book that reflects the rich diversity of human experience?

This month’s reading challenge prompt is: Read a book or an author that celebrates diversity. Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, romance or memoir, we’ve curated a list of powerful reads that center LGBTQ+ identities and amplify underrepresented voices.

Many of these books also feature characters with diverse experiences and identities that go beyond sexuality and gender. You'll find stories that include characters who are neurodivergent, live with mobility differences, or sensory impairments, and come from differing cultural backgrounds, but all offer a deeper, richer look at the intersectionality that shapes our world.

So grab a book, open your mind, and.....read with pride.
