Small Acts, Big Impact: Celebrating our Volunteers

With National Volunteer Week taking place April 19–25, it's the perfect time to celebrate and recognize the contributions and impact of our Library volunteers.

Our volunteers come in all ages and backgrounds, each bringing their own talents and enthusiasm. They assist with programs like the TD Summer Reading Club, help prepare craft materials, and lend a hand with behind-the-scenes tasks. Whether their efforts are large or small, their contributions enrich our patrons' experience within the Library and strengthen our connection to the community.

We are also fortunate to have dedicated Friends of the Library groups in a number of our branches. Through fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement, these groups help expand programs, purchase new materials, and support initiatives that enhance the services we provide to our communities. Together with volunteers, they play a key role in helping the SDG Library grow and thrive.

National Volunteer Week reminds us to celebrate the generosity of time, talent, and heart that volunteers give. Their commitment allows the Library to do more, reach more people, and create welcoming spaces where everyone feels included.

To all our volunteers: thank you. Your energy, dedication, and care make a real difference every day. Your help makes the SDG Library a welcoming, vibrant place to be where everyone in our community feels at home.

If you’re inspired by their example, there’s no better time to get involved! Visit our website or drop by your local branch to learn about volunteer opportunities and discover how you can make a difference this April and beyond.
