Overview

A button maker, also known as a badge maker or button press, is a machine used to create custom buttons with images and text.

The MakerLab has a button press that can produce three (3) sizes of round buttons: 1”, 1.25”, 2.25”.

Full-service button making is only available at the MakerLab. The button maker cannot be shipped to other SDG Library Branches.

Button Maker FAQs

  • To ensure that the proper supplies are being used and to avoid damage to the button makers we currently only allow supplies that the library provides.

  • The library has three sizes of button makers: 1 inch, 1.25 inch and 2.25 inch.

  • The price to make a button depends on the size of the button.  One inch and 1.25" inch buttons are $0.50 per button and the 2.25" buttons are $1.00 per button.  Please keep in mind that there may be additional charges for printing or photocopying your button design.  Printing cost $0.25 per page for black and white and $1.00 for colour printing.

  • No there are currently no limits on the number of buttons that can be made during your visit but time and supplies may be limited.   If you are planning to create a large number of buttons please ensure to include this information when you book your appointment at the MakerLab.

  • Yes it is recommended that you book an appointment to use the button maker to ensure that supplies and equipment will be available.
