Introducing our new, refreshed website

Welcome to the public preview of our new, improved website, aimed at making the online library experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Not only does the new website have an upgraded physical appearance, but the site is also rich with features to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.

As of September, we are in “public preview” mode. This means that the website is still a work in progress, and our old website, www.sdglibrary.ca, is still active. We’d love to receive feedback about our new website from our patrons on our feedback form before we officially launch this new website in October.

Highlights of our new website

A shining feature of the website is our new events system, which makes searching and registering for library programs easier than ever. Programs and events can be sorted by date, branch location, age demographic, and event type. Whether you're looking to join a crafting club or wanting to attend a Storytime with the little ones, our event platform can help you find what you’re looking for.

Another fun feature is our blog post section. SDG Library staff have already written posts about topics that interest them, such as one that gives advice about raising chickens, and another that provides recommendations on where to go when borrowing a free Ontario Park Pass from SDG Library. Keep an eye on this page as we continue to produce lots of engaging content.

Check out our Digital Library to easily navigate resources such as cloudLibrary, Mango Languages, and Kanopy. Access old resources or discover a new one!

"We are excited to launch the public preview of our brand-new website, which strives to make SDG Library resources, programs, and communications more navigable for our patrons," said Rebecca Luck, Director of Library Services.

What do you think?

Although the public preview of the website is ready for you to explore, it’s still a work in progress. Patrons are invited to use our website feedback form to submit suggestions and comments on what we can improve. We would love to hear your thoughts so we can make your experience better.
