On October 5, the SDG Library was thrilled to welcome bestselling Canadian author Shari Lapena for an unforgettable SDG Reads event at North Stormont Place in Avonmore.
Before the main event, 25 guests took part in a special VIP experience, enjoying a more personal conversation with Shari and unique insight into her work. The evening then continued into the main hall where readers from across the counties gathered to hear Shari discuss her writing process, inspirations, and journey to becoming one of Canada’s most successful authors. In a conversational style discussion with Emily Andrews (Community Librarian - SDG Library), Shari’s warmth, humour, and candid reflections captivated the audience and provided a fascinating look behind the scenes of her bestselling novels.
Guests enjoyed a lively discussion about the creative process behind Shari’s work, her approach to building suspense, developing characters, and the lasting impact libraries have had on her life as a reader and writer. Following the presentation, guests had the opportunity to have their books signed by Shari.
The SDG Library extends our sincere thanks to Shari Lapena for her generosity, time, and enthusiastic support of libraries and readers. It was a privilege to host her and provide our community with the opportunity to connect with one of Canada's most popular writers.
We are also deeply grateful to our sponsors for their generous support. Their contributions helped make this event possible.
A special thank you to our incredible staff, whose creativity, dedication, and attention to detail brought this event to life.
